Cookies are simply used to track movements and purchases whilst you are shopping, so that the shopping basket has a way of telling what items you require. The shopping basket will not function if you set your browser to reject cookies.
Within the secure ordering form, you can opt to have the personal details to be 'remembered' to speed up future purchasing. This involves the placement of a further cookie on your computer. To update these details during any further purchases you must simply change the information as appropriate within the secure order form and check the update details box. Paying online is simple. We accept the following credit and debit cards: Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Visa Delta, Maestro/Switch, and Solo. Sorry, but we do not accept American Express and Diners Club. Please note that all prices stated on the website are inclusive of UK VAT at 17.5%.
yourfurniture.co.uk recognise that security is one of the major concerns for the shopper during an online transaction. Therefore we use state-of-the-art security tools and techniques to ensure that you are protected against online fraud. Every transaction is transmitted across the Internet using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This industry standard method ensures that information sent from your browser is scrambled whilst in transit and decoded when it arrives on our server. SSL is now supported by all major browsers - Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, Netscape 5 or higher, or similar - and is generally accepted as a way of doing business securely over the Internet.
All personal data, including your card number, is transmitted over secure connections, meaning that no-one can 'eavesdrop' and capture your details. In addition to this, your card details are not viewable by us at all, they are simply transmitted over the bank's private X25 network for authorisation and payment transactions. You are protected because the transaction was carried out as 'cardholder not present.' This means that any payments will be refunded to your card should it be used fraudulently by someone else or you do not receive what you ordered. In reality, an online purchase is probably more secure than a card transaction conducted in a shop, over the telephone, or by fax, because we ensure that your online purchase details are encrypted using complex logarithm methods.
Within the secure shopping basket simply double click on the padlock located in the taskbar of your browser to view the security certificate of iShop, our payment solution provider (PSP), which is issued by Thawte.
Common reasons for problems when pressing the order button include: not having the correct date and time on your PC; using an old browser that doesn't support SSL encryption; and, browsing from behind a corporate firewall that will not allow secure connections. To check, point your browser to https://www.microsoft.com/. If you cannot connect to the Microsoft secure server it is likely that one of the above faults apply. If you are browsing from behind a corporate firewall, speak to the system administrator at your office. They will either rectify the problem or you will advise you to order from another location.
Once you have placed an order, you will receive an e-mail confirming that the order is being processed. Please read it carefully to check that you have placed your order correctly. If you do not receive such an order confirmation please contact us. Please note that it is also advisable to print the final order confirmation page following the placement of your order, and make a note of your order number.
Your card will normally be debited when the goods are dispatched, although in certain limited circumstances (if you require you order to be delivered on a specific date in the future) it will be debited prior to this time.
When you place an order with yourfurniture.co.uk we simply gain an authorisation from your card issuer. No monies are taken directly from your card! This authorisation guarantees that the funds are available on your card and that payment will be made to us. This authorisation remains valid for ten days.
Please note, we hold large amounts of every product we sell and are able to quickly replenish stocks. If for any reason we cannot supply you with any part of your order we will contact you via e-mail or telephone to advise you of this. We can if necessary cancel an individual item from your order.
If the authorisation fails, the most likely explanation is that you have input your card details (card type, card number, start/expiry date, CVV code (the last three digits on the reverse of the card - see HERE for details), etc incorrectly. If this happens, press the back button on your browser and you will be returned to the card input page. Check that all the details are correct, and make any changes necessary before proceeding.
If all the details are correct and you still fail to get an authorisation then we advise that you contact your card issuer to establish why your card was not authorised. You may also try and proceed with the transaction using an alternative card or opt to switch to an offline order. Please note that we are unable to process failed orders.
